I've never been able to say that about any HB purchase before or since. I bought that Magix bundle the last time they offered one.and ended up feeling completely ripped off. If you don't have a workstyle I'd tend to recommend simplicity of use so you don't get bogged down early on. Maybe someone else can speak to Samplitude, but in my experience the learning curve on each DAW is different so it's hard to tell what will "click" with your workstyle and what won't. But I guess as a beginner I'd bet Music Studio will be good to learn on. Other software will be better for other things. I did like messing around with loops, so did prefer things like Ableton Live, Acid, and Music Studio which make that easier. I found I got frustrated if things got to complex too quickly w/ the software, so simplicity was my preference. When I was doing this stuff I preferred simplicity in software so I could get down to making music, but I'm a guitarist who liked songwriting and recording with a band, so would likely have much different requirements than someone who's into electronica and likes to program the heck out the software. There are so many DAWs it's hard to anticipate what will appeal best. As a beginner my guess is the Music Studio 10 is alot easier to use, but you might like Samplitude better. With alot of DAWs it just comes down to learning one that fits working style and using it because they're often pretty complex and deep. With audio stuff often it's a matter of learning how to use it vs. As a beginner it's certainly a powerful tool and will probably do a ton of things you'll never use, even if the software is aged a bit. some of the iZotope mastering tools in SFPro11 are respected, and maybe the loop editor might be interesting (I'm interested in loops), but there are many ways of doing things like that, and many different tools. I don't know much of added features are for the Sound Forge Pro 11 vs. If you own it, the row will be highlighted with a green color.
